RDA is a Lao-based non-profit social enterprise founded in 2009 as a trace origin from PADETC (Participatory Development Training Centre).
Background
RDA is a Lao-based non-profit social enterprise founded in 2009 as a trace origin from PADETC (Participatory Development Training Centre). RDA began as a semi-autonomous organization SuanMaiLao Eco-Forest Learning Center (SML) which focused on educating young people and the general public on the importance of ecology in relation to holistic education and development. SML would go on to become the Rural Development Agency (RDA) in 2015. RDA has gone on to expand its efforts toward developing and participating in projects that take community centred approaches in WASH, Nutrition, Environmental Conservation and Youth Engagement. RDA has extensive experience and networks within the Lao PDR, working with young people, communities, local authorities and village functionalities in promoting sustainable and inclusive community development in Lao PDR. July 2023 RDA has revised its 3-year strategic plan with the mandates of action as follow.

Facilitating a holistic capacity strengthening and quality provision of services in environmental education, nutrition, youth empowerment and community study for wellbeing and prosperity of Lao people.
Overall Goal
RDA is to be professional and be a knowledge station in environmental education, food security and community study tools through strengthening of youth and women in 20 communities within these next 3-year.

RDA has its own policies of finance, human resource management, procurement, code of conduct and child safeguard.
STAFF
RDA’s staffs have specific ability to implement their responsible under multi projects as specialist. Currently (2023), there are 22 staff working for RDA. There are 2 persons at management level, 5 persons at team leader level, 13 persons are technical staff, and 2 persons are internship staff.
SATATUS
RDA registered under Commercial and Trade office at Sisattanak District as individual enterprise and tax registration with Sisattanak district.
